Pluto in Capricorn is not finished with us yet

By Dianne Lawson

I agree with the other astrologers below who said that Pluto going into Aquarius is a big deal.  But Pluto in Capricorn is not finished with us yet.  Pluto will enter into Aquarius in March 2023 and stay until June 2023, and then it will retrograde back into Capricorn.  (A planet goes in apparent backward motion through the signs of the zodiac based upon our relative position with it.)  Pluto will dance between the two signs until 2024, before it will stay in Aquarius.  When Pluto transitions through the signs it is a gradual changing of the guard, not an abrupt switch.

Pluto destroys, transforms and eliminates what is no longer needed.  It also brings to the surface that which had been hidden.  It is connected with Plutocrats, big business, power, criminals, police, volcanoes, and earthquakes.

Capricorn is the sign of the zodiac that corresponds with governments, careers, and leaders, especially government, business and religion.

The year 2023 will bring us big changes in governments around the world and their leaders.  Many secrets of powerful people will be brought to light.  Careers will continue to evolve to serve people’s needs.  More people will leave unsatisfactory jobs to pursue what they have more power over.  On a personal level, we will be getting rid of what no longer serves us and will be facing our long-hidden issues.

The biggest astrological event(s) of 2023

By Julian Venables

I think the most interesting astrological events of 2023 will be the ongoing waxing cycle of Jupiter & Saturn, which started in December 2020 at 0 Aquarius, and set in motion 160 years of Air element conjunctions between these two outer planets.

In 2023 there will be:

Jupiter semi-square Saturn (21st March).

Jupiter Sextile Saturn (19th June).

and Jupiter Quintile Saturn (31st August).

Why have I chosen this? Because back in September 2022, during the first Jupiter semi-square Saturn, there was an amazing turn of events in the UK – Queen Elizabeth II died, and the Prime Minister changed. This shift was especially odd because the monarchy went from a female ruler (QE II) to a male ruler (Charles III) at the same moment the political world also shifted from a male PM (Boris Johnson) to a female PM (Liz Truss). That I felt was a hugely symbolic moment.

Most people thought that it was the Saturn/Uranus square, but I saw something else… the waxing Jupiter Saturn 20-year cycle currently beginning in growth and manifestation, which started with the conjunction in December 2020 at 0 Aquarius.

Because this Aquarius influenced cycle is so new and fresh and exciting, I think humanity can expect a lot from the current Jupiter/Saturn aspect cycle as it brings Aquarian themes of equality and radical change. So, on the above dates I think we can expect news events and situations that are unconventional, experimental, and open-minded.

There is an extra enhancement because Pluto is entering Aquarius in 2023, but it won’t actually reach the exact point of the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction (0 degrees 29’ Aquarius) until the 5th February 2024… and from that point onwards, the Jupiter/Saturn cycle will be loaded with additional regenerative plutonic energy of change.

2023 is a bumpy year with three outer planets changing signs:

By Jenni Stone

Saturn into Pisces. Jupiter into Taurus, and Pluto dipping into Aquarius for the first time since the 1778-9 revolutions rocked across Europe and America, ending the power of royalty and other top-down authorities that ruled by force and family influence and, while it would be easy to dismiss the nosedive of Pluto into Aquarius as an anomaly, Lord Pluto isn’t as strict about boundaries as the other planets (as shown by the financial catastrophe of 2008 which happened several months before Pluto moved into Capricorn).

In fact, we’re already seeing the signposts for the Pluto in Aquarius revolution, (which will get stronger in 2024-5) and we’re watching a crypto currency and Twitter teetering on the edge of self-destruction while the algorithms of Facebook face severe challenges. There will. no doubt be more turmoil, but there’s some good, better, best news, because throughout 2023 there are great jumping off places that move projects forwards, like the five New Moons within a day or so of a planetary station, six Cazimi, and three New Moons at 1-2-3 degrees of their sign, which give strong forward thrust to whatever is started on those days.  Together, these cosmic events make 2023 an important turning point on the revolutionary road to the Age of Aquarius,

What do I see in 2023?

By Dave the Mystic

I see our lives on this planet as a sort of “boot camp” to test us and motivate us to grow spiritually especially through making mistakes and learning from them.  So, WOW, we have lots of opportunities?  Many people have retreated during the COVID period and the Universe is poking them with sharp sticks to get re-engaged and to make things better.  I see the threat and risks of COVID fading away and becoming much like many other seasonal respiratory ailments.  I see our economy and many other countries’ economies getting back on their feet – no depression, no currency collapse.

I see a rebound to restoring law and order but this will involve all the stake-holders – the citizens of all ethnic groups, law enforcement, politicians.  As this evolves I see continued migration of people out of high-crime cities until the politicians get the message.  I also have seen many adults and children having the intuitive gifts activated and I think this will rapidly accelerate in the next year or two as we move to some tremendous vibrational shifts/jumps.  Babies don’t enjoy the birth process but there is a whole new world opening up to them afterwards.  I see us in this position.  You’ll all be fine!

Dave the Mystic (David Barnett) is an energy medicine practitioner, healer and intuitive with over 35 years’ experience in Colorado. He has multiple technical degrees and is truly a rocket scientist. In the early 1980’s, Dave had some turning points in his life that led to a passion in discovering and developing his gifts in multiple forms of energy healing. He embarked on a path of training in many modalities and developing conceptual understanding of how the different systems work, complement each other and support spirituality.  Dave has gifts in healing, reading the Akashic Records, energy and entity clearing, changing core beliefs, Karma burning, and discerning spiritual gifts.  Dave continually seeks out new modalities, learns and experiences them from their practitioners and frequently highlights these on his weekly web radio show. Dave is a strong believer in health issues having many potential causes in different energy planes.  Dave works with many spiritual guides and communicates with them freely.

Sedna into Gemini

By Alan Clay

In mid June the new outer limit of our solar system, Sedna, will go into Gemini. New Zealand astrologer Alan Clay, who runs the Dwarf Planet University, reminds us that while Saturn used to be the old outer limit, as new planets are discovered our view of our reality expands. Sedna talks about our spiritual destiny at the highest level, but also about all the stuff we have to go through to get to our spiritual destiny. She was in Aries, sign of the god of war, for 100 years prior to 1968, and that was the period of the world wars. In the late sixties she went into Taurus, ruled by Venus, which produced the hippy generation with the moto: “make love not war”. So we see these outer planets most clearly in the sign changes, and Sedna’s dive from the material of Taurus to the consciousness of Gemini, will be something we will all feel.

We’re currently in what we’re calling a digital revolution, that’s the Sedna in Taurus phase. And with Sedna’s entry into Gemini this is likely that this will morph more into a consciousness revolution. Neural networks, the basis of Artificial Intelligence, were discovered in 2003, the same year as Sedna, so she rules AI. Artificial Intelligence is an evolving life form to which we will give all of our work over these coming years. Scary though this is, it will give us the space to do other more meaningful things. And this will be the challenge of the Sedna in Gemini transit, discovering what is meaningful in this new context.

On a personal level, the house where this Gemini ingress is occurring will be the area of your life that this consciousness evolution will be focused. Often Sedna can manifest in our lives as transcendent crises, these are crises which are so severe that we must let go of the pain and suffering and transcend to a new level of consciousness. There is no solution to a Sedna crisis. Transcendence is the only option. So if you are experiencing repeated pain around an issue in the area of life represented by the house Sedna is transiting, being counterintuitive and letting go is answer. And becoming conscious of these new energies helps. At the Dwarf Planet University, Alan helps students on-board them through six week courses studying the house placement, aspects and transits in our personal charts. www.dwarfplanet.university Subscribe to the email newsletter to get dwarf planet news and scholarship deals on classes.

Karmic Nodes of the Moon

By Sheri Horn Hasan of Karmic Evolution Astrology:

By mid-July 2023 the transiting karmic Nodes of the Moon will regress back from current Scorpio South Node/Taurus North Node energies to a Libra South Node/Aries North Node axis.

This shifts us away from striving to transform our sense of security and inner peace through a greater sense of personal self-empowerment (begun circa January 19, 2022), toward making definitive choices based on intuitive instinct–IF we can let go of paralyzing indecision and resulting passive/aggressive behavior.

In short, Nodal transits are part of our karmic development, both personally and collectively. We’ve seen since January 2022 the move away from controlling others through sex and money toward trusting more in the innate feminine divine’s natural cycles of life.

We can’t hold Mother Nature or the environment hostage to how much money we can make from her finite resources, just as we cannot control the natural cycles of birth and death, no matter how hard we try.

From July 18, 2023 until January 12, 2025, our focus will shift to being able to make our own choices freely. Believing we always have a choice in the decisions we make may well represent a huge step forward in terms of collective consciousness.

For individuals, it can prove a time (depending on house location of this nodal transit in your personal chart) we no longer sacrifice our personal will to that of others and feel resentful later.

It’s only by understanding that freedom of choice is available to us all that we can truly enjoy taking responsibility for ourselves rather than blaming others for making decisions for us that we don’t like. Becoming independently responsible for choices made through a balance of logic and intuition means we’re able to cease playing the victim, which allows us instead to become more boldly confident as we make our way forward in life.

Investigating the Darker Side of Aquarius

By Mary Jo Wevers

One of the important astrological events happening in 2023 is the passage of the dwarf planet Pluto from the sign of Capricorn into Aquarius on March 23rd. During the last 15 years Pluto in Capricorn has directed its formidable powers of resurgence and transformation to expose the darker side of traditional, conventional systems and structures that have provided some semblance of material stability and security. We have witnessed Pluto’s disruptive and purging forces acting upon business, government and financial institutions as it roots out and deconstructs all that is toxic and decaying. What might we experience during the 20 year period of Pluto in Aquarius?

Aquarius is concerned with philosophy, ethics, reforming society and progressing into the future. It promotes humanitarian ideals, values equality, and is a champion for the unique individual. Pluto was last in Aquarius during 1778-1798, a period marked by revolution, extensive changes in social order and individual rights. It was also a time of scientific breakthroughs and the first industrial revolution. In the coming years we may witness unprecedented advances in science and technology, including genetic engineering and the use of machinery to enhance human longevity. We may also see advanced technological breakthroughs in computer science that affect our social media and global networking platforms. Pluto will work to reveal the darker side of these developments. While we may be preoccupied with changes in the outer world, Pluto in Aquarius prods us to look deep within ourselves, to explore the mysteries of what it is to be human. How can we express our own uniqueness as an individual within the context of society? Do we protect and promote the freedom of others? How can we come into a greater knowing of our own strength and power, instead of attempting to control others? In what ways can we temper rebelliousness with self-control? Can we find innovative ways to cooperate and share resources on our planet? Through self-transformation we can play our part moving humanity into the future.

Predictions for 2023

By Mitchell Scott Lewis

There are three major transits that we will experience in 2023. The first, and perhaps most prominent, is the ingress of Pluto into Aquarius. Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008, just as the financial meltdown began, leading to a long recession and the need for a reexamination of our values. Now after 14 years, Pluto is leaving restrictive Capricorn as it begins its travels through this erratic, unpredictable Uranus-ruled sign, where it will remain until 2044. Because Pluto has an elliptic orbit it spends a different amount of time in the various signs. Some of the issues that will come to the forefront in the next two decades include an escalation in power struggles, and a redefinition of our values, both financially and spiritually. Once Pluto enters Pisces in 2044 the spiritual will take precedent. But for now, let’s focus on the need for a redefinition of equitability and how money and power are used. One example of Pluto’s influence was the invention of cryptocurrency, which occurred just as Pluto entered Capricorn. I have never been a fan, and consider it one of the great Ponzi schemes and pyramid con-games in history. I have repeatedly warned my followers, on radio, in my writings, webinars and lectures not to trust it. And I have been proven right time and again. The most recent collapse of FTX is only the latest in a long series of the breakdown of this “asset”. It will continue until there are either real regulations to the industry or it ceases to exist. In either case it will most likely mean the demise of the product, and will show the corrupt and decaying underbelly of this con game. As Pluto enters Aquarius it will accelerate the decay.

Pluto rules energy on many levels. It is the trading ruler of oil, gas and all fossil fuels. As it traveled through restrictive Capricorn and conjuncted Saturn in 2020, the price of oil actually went below zero. Now as it enters Aquarius, the ruler of electricity we are already seeing what this implies. Electric cars, wind, solar and nuclear (Pluto rules Plutonium) energy will continue to expand. While it will take a generation to finally break our addiction to fossil fuels, we are well on our way in that direction and it will escalate rapidly over the next 20 years, as 2023 will show.

In 2022 we saw the Saturn-Uranus square complete three times. While this isn’t a new aspect the conclusion of it is an effective energy. This is an aspect that commonly occurs when the stock markets crash or are in a bear market. We saw a raging bear market throughout the year. Now that this aspect has completed, we are already seeing a recovery in the equities that should continue into 2023. The markets will continue to be quite volatile for some time, but this could be a good buying opportunity for those with a long-term plan on investing.

Jupiter has just gone direct and will soon enter Aries, the beginning of a new 12 year cycle. This is a very positive aspect that will create an atmosphere of optimism and a desire for growth. In our personal lives this represents a chance to move our projects forward and to expand our perspective. This is a time to lay down the foundation for our long-term goals and to look ahead a number of years. What do you want to accomplish? What is your true purpose, and how would you like to achieve it? Those are the questions we should be asking now. This is also going to affect the collective and give our society at large the opportunity to move towards a period of growth.

This can be seen in many ways, but one of the best indicators is in the financial markets. In 1999-2009 the S&Ps posted a net loss for the decade, only the second time that has happened. In 2010 Jupiter entered Aries following a “flash crash” in May, and shortly after Jupiter went into this fire sign the stock recovered and earned almost 18% for the year. There was a sharp drop in the stock in August 2011 when Jupiter was in Taurus. But while it was in Aries the equities expanded greatly. I expect a similar recovery in 2023.

One of the areas of concern with this transit is that while Jupiter rules expansion of all sorts, Aries is ruled by Mars, the god of war. We may see escalations in some troubled spots around the world. Of course my eye is on Ukraine and what this could possibly mean for that beleaguered nation.

I am optimistic about 2023 and the years following, but with a realistic eye on our world and the issues that continue to plague us. The political divide that has grown into a global struggle shows no signs of slowing down. But eventually the battle lines will be drawn, and either we will continue to embrace a democratic worldwide philosophy or we will make a sharp right turn and head in a direction that will have profound and long-term effects.

Looking forward to Pluto

By Anthony S. Picco

I am not a mundane astrologer and don’t often look to upcoming world events as forecasted/interpreted by astrology, but this year I am looking forward to Pluto dipping in to Aquarius for a few months. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008 and I have personally had enough. I am grateful for it straightening out the over-extensions of Pluto in Sagittarius, but with my Sun, North Node, Mercury, MC, Chiron and Venus are arrayed across 20º to 24º Capricorn, and it has been an evolutionary past few years for me. >ahem< I am glad to see Pluto exit Capricorn. (It is currently trining my 29º Taurus Moon but that’s a walk in the park, comparatively.)

There are some astrologers concerned that Pluto in Aquarius could usher in a period of corporate control but I always remember, the symbol of Aquarius is the water-bearer; an individual in service to local society. Leo may be the symbol of the individual displaying personal pride and self-worth, but I see the opposition of Aquarius embodying the same individuality seeking to serve everyone in some form. I could imagine the breakdown of “top down” management and structure. I could imagine looser, perhaps almost tribal connections; connections based on mutual interests, as opposed to the politicians, CEOs, and billionaires evoking the darker side of Leo.

Mercury in Earth:

By Adam Sommer

The year 2023 begins with Mercury being retrograde. Around every 120 days, an often misunderstood planet, stations in the evening sky and begins to fall through the horizon.  What is actually happening is that Mercury begins to travel between the Earth and Sun.  Once the transit is complete, Mercury then appears in the morning sky. It’s magic and there are many layers to understanding it.  One of my favorites to place into the interpretation is that these retrogrades happen in batches in particular elements.  For example, the retrograde that brings us into 23′ will be in Capricorn, which is an Earth sign.  The next one in April will be in Taurus. In August there will be another in Virgo.  Then the year will end with a final Rx in Capricorn.  All Earth signs.  Nearly all of the Mercury Retrogrades in 22′ were in Air signs.  So, what do we do with this information? Why does it matter?

Mercury is the planet that helps us to tune our ears to what is happening.  He helps us to understand and shapes our thinking.  It’s this swift messenger who fashions wings to our thoughts.  So when the year’s element was in Air, much can be distilled by contemplating the coronavirus and how it moves, how it was transmitted, and what many have considered being an Information war taking place. Elon Musk taking over Twitter (a blue bird sigil) before the year’s end is a perfect feather for Mercury’s cap.  The entire debate about free speech is tangled in the nest of these online networks.  When we turn to Earth, the focus will shift in a nuanced manner.  It’s not to say the themes will disappear from the Air, but the Info War may turn its focus more on the Energy War, on money, and on the fair distribution of both.

Studying Mercury’s movements in a mundane sense is interesting, but it’s unbelievable when applied to ourselves and our own charts.  Contemplating what the Air was all about while looking at your chart and wondering what will come with the Earth focus moving forward is where the truest of magic lies.

Don’t fear Mercury being retrograde. Ever.  When the magi is close, so are the most exciting teachings.

Eudaimonia,

Here you go!

By Eric Pride

One of the most remarkable characteristics of astrology is its ability to be both ancient as well as innovative. In the spirit of this union we look to the newest Comet (C/2022 E3 ZFT) discovered in 2022, which will become visible to the naked eye on the 1st of February 2023. The appearance of a comet forecasts the end of an old way of thinking, through conflict, and in the sign of Gemini, we should expect it to be vocal conflict. By examining the comet’s path through the 20th, 21st, and 22nd degrees of Gemini we can get a glimpse of how it is likely to manifest.

As ZFT passes through the fixed stars Bellatrix, Cappella, and Phact we can see the repeated theme of military honor, military rulership, and mathematical genius. We can safely conclude that 2023 will be a year riddled with military displays across the globe, and a changing tide for military groups who cannot see their fall. We are also likely to see new forms of communication and transportation to begin being developed and offered. On a more personal level, the majority of individuals will find that they need to re-learn how to deal with interpersonal conflict. Those born under the sign of Gemini will be most influenced by this, though they are likely to be gifted with sudden strokes of genius.
